About Arefin Azam

I am Arefin Azam, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and licensed member of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). For more than seven years, I've worked alongside people at the most consequential turning points of their lives, and I have learned that the difference between a refusal and an approval is often nothing more than care, taken early and taken seriously.

I completed my graduate studies at the University of Waterloo and my undergraduate degree at the University of Dhaka. Today I practise from Calgary, serving clients across Canada and beyond.

Alongside my consultancy, I serve as a Project Coordinator at the Calgary Immigrant Women's Association (CIWA), working directly with newcomer communities as they build their lives here. That work keeps me close to what's actually at stake behind every application number — the mother navigating an unfamiliar system in her second language, the worker one extension away from stability, the family waiting on a sponsorship years in the making. Regulatory precision on one side, genuine community on the other: that balance shapes how I handle every case.

Before immigration law, I spent years in hospitality and corporate client relations managing high-stakes events and earning trust across cultures for international properties including Pan Pacific and Radisson Blu. Those years taught me that good outcomes are never lucky. They're built through preparation, clarity, and follow-through under pressure.

I bring that same discipline here. I read every document closely. I anticipate problems before they surface. I communicate before you have to ask. And I treat each file as if it belonged to someone I know because to someone, it always does.
